Things to do as you await the manifestation of your desires

We all desire things but most people only dream and wish they can get the things they desire. Less than 20% of people do something to get what they desire. The difference between the one who gets their desire and the one who doesn’t is in the action taken.
Until we stop wishing and waiting for things to happen by chance and start taking actions, our dreams may never come true. We go about complaining and worrying (over-thinking the situation), instead of doing what we ought to do. The problem is that you have not recognized the fact that you haven’t done something. Make that decision today to move from dreaming to doing, from wishing to working. Be resolute about using every time you have, to advance towards your goals. Stop pampering yourself. Stop relaxing when you should be doing something. If you want it badly, you will be ready to get up and get stressed. If you don’t know where to start from, here are a few tips that you might find helpful;

1. Study: if I hope to be an expert in something in the future, instead of thinking and complaining as I wait for the time of manifestation, I should be preparing myself for the future. Get the skills necessary for where you want to be or what you want to do.
Before Daniel excelled in Babylon, he put in a lot of preparations. He had all the necessary requirements and knowledge needed.

It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom one hundred and twenty satraps, to be over the whole kingdom; and over these, three governors, of whom Daniel was one, that the satraps might give account to them, so that the king would suffer no loss. Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm.
Daniel 6:1-3

2. Pray: we always try to figure things out by ourselves, but since we haven’t done a good job with that, I believe the wise thing to do will be to hand it over to the one who already has it all figured out. I have thought a situation over and over for years until one day it dawned on me that I have not specifically asked God what to do about that situation.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Philippians 4:6

3. Patience: having a dream is easy; the difficult part is in waiting for these dreams to become reality.  In life, there is always that period of waiting. You can be waiting for the result of an exam you have written; waiting for your life partner; waiting for a job; waiting for an appointment or recommendation; waiting for your business to grow or for a rise in your career. There is always this anxiety that comes while we wait for our prayers to be answered. Most people have not learned to be patient and wait. You really have to give it sometime; as long as you are doing what you are supposed to do, the rest should be left in God’s hands.

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Romans 12:12

4. Believe: if you think you can do it, then you are already half way done. You can’t succeed in marketing a product if you believe the product will not sell. You can’t succeed in creating a masterpiece if you believe that you are not creative. If you believe you can’t get what you want, then you can’t. Nothing changes until you change your mind set. Change your mind set by thinking differently.

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes."
Mark 9:23

5. Work: you can’t stop working on your dreams if you really want to see it become reality. Everything is achievable; it all depends on how much time you are willing to give it.

But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!
2 Chronicle 15:7

If you want to write a book, you have to be ready to stay up late or wake early to work on it.
If you want to be closer to God, you have to be ready to sacrifice some of your entertainment time for praying and studying the word of God.
If you want to hear from God, you have to work on your mind, learning how to silence it from its numerous thoughts and training it to maintain focus.
If you want to succeed in a business, you have to be willing to get the necessary training and continue working on the business until it becomes what you want.
