Do you put off living in the present to worry about the future or the past?

You may have a lot of things to do at once with little time to do it, to accomplish these tasks in a more efficient way, you will have to take it ONE TASK AT A TIME. By doing so, you will achieve more, save yourself from confusion and from physical and mental stress.
Robert Louis Stevenson wrote, "anyone can carry his burden, however hard, until nightfall; anyone can live sweetly, patiently, lovingly, purely, till the sun goes down." Everyday is a new life to a wise man. Forget about yesterday and stop thinking about tomorrow.
Most of us put off living, we keep dreaming about the life in the future, instead of enjoying the life we have presently. As a child, you were dreaming about doing certain things when you grow up, when you grew up you decided to leave it for when you get married; now you are married and you are dreaming about the things you will do when your kids become grown ups and leave the house. When did you do what you are supposed to do at the stage where you are? When did you enjoy the present moment without worrying or fantasizing about tomorrow? Some people have gone as far as not enjoying something good happening in their lives at the moment because they are worried about how long it will last.

Today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope.

  1. No one can escape worry and sorrow.

What is required is perspective to lighten them and mental strength to bear with them.

If one is diagnosed with a debilitating disease like Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s or a terminal cancer with no immediate cure in sight, one will worry about the future.

What is needed then is acceptance and resilience to face them.

In those circumstances, support from others is a must to help them take one day at a time and to make that day, a day of fun and happiness.

  2. Lessons
Take your task one at a time.

Enjoy the life you have presently.

Do not be worried about tomorrow.

The best way to plan/prepare for tomorrow is to fully concentrate on doing great today.

    I'm learning, thank you.

  3. My past is forgiven and I can learn from it. MY present begins to make sense as I walk further with CHRIST. My future is secure in HIM…so therefore, how can I put off living in the present? Wouldn’t I be defeating GOD’s purpose and plan?
