30 THINGS I WANT MY CHILDREN TO KNOW

Raising Children is not easy and if you want your children to possess certain characteristics, you will have to put in some work and do it consciously. Below are 30 things I will want my children to know:

1.   Gratitude: I will instill in them the habit of being thankful in life

2.   Thoughts: I will teach them how thoughts possess magnetic powers

3.   The golden rule: I will make sure they know this rule, “treat others the way you want to be treated.”

4.   Life shouldn’t be taken seriously: It’s not like I will be teaching them to be unserious with life, but I will teach them that they do not need to make mountains out of anthills.

5.   You don’t need to shout to be heard: God help me with this because it’s really a hard one for us.

6.   You are great: I will make sure they do not look down on themselves or permit limiting thoughts of any kind, no matter what anyone tells them,

7.   People pleasing: it is good to care about people but never do anything because of what people will say or think

8.   Own your mistakes: everyone makes mistakes; you don’t need to blame someone else for yours.

9.    Arguments are usually unnecessary; avoid them as much as you can.

10.            “I am sorry:” learning how to say it as at when due will save you a lot.

11.            Read: it is very important

12.            Pray: it will always be the best thing to do

13.            Relax

14.            Don’t cross the bridge until you get there; Live one day at a time

15.            Forgive; don’t live in the past

16.            You must have a skill that you are a master of

17.            Socialize: learn how to relate with other humans, that’s what life is all about.

18.            Give

19.            Be contented

20.            Do not say everything on your mind

21.            Be your brother’s/sister’s keeper

22.            Family is everything

23.            Let go; you can’t control everything

24.            You can be all that you want to be

25.            Don’t complain, do something instead

26.            Consistency is the key to steady progress

27.            Don’t force your opinion on others

28.            Before you try to change someone else, change yourself first.

29.            Drop expectations

30.            Be at peace with yourself: don’t do things that make you lose your peace.
