EXERCISE YOUR AUTHORITY


Until we realize the authority we have as believers, we will not be able to exercise it. So many spiritual people do not really realize what it means to have the Spirit of God. You may have a phone, but if you do not know what to do with it, it will be as good as not having one. You are powerful and you need to start exercising your authority. Let’s take a look at some ways you can exercise the authority you have. You can:

1.   Create things: in the beginning, the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. That was how God called forth things that weren’t in existence and they became. The good news is, you have that same spirit that hovered over the waters right inside of you. You too can create things out of nothing.

2.   Cast out demons: Jesus sent out the disciples to preach and when the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, “Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!” These days, believers are scared of demons and run helter-skelter in search of deliverance. Until we realize the powers we posses and put them to use, the devil will be playing on us.

3.   Work miracles: Jesus performed countless miracles; from healing the sick to raising the dead. And He said we will do greater works than He did. The world doubts every miracle and concludes the powers behind it are demonic, but no one living or dead has done greater works than Jesus did. Do you even believe you can do the things Jesus did?

4.   Discover secret treasures: the scriptures confirm that it is God that gives the ability to make wealth. If you have the spirit of God in you, what makes you think you can’t be rich?

5.   Discover hidden knowledge: God’s understanding is infinite, He is all-knowing. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and lay bare to His eyes. We will agree that no one knows God’s thought except God’s Spirit; and if we have God’s spirit who knows God’s thoughts in us, then we can discover hidden knowledge. David said in Psalm 119 verse 99, “I have more understanding than my teachers.” You can say the same if you believe.

6.   Stay healthy: A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones. The Spirit of God is not a broken Spirit, it brings health and healing. God cannot be sick and as He is, so are we.

7.   Influence your environment:  you have the ability to influence your environment. The word influencer is not for the world alone. Joseph, Daniel, David, Shedrack, Meshack and Abednego were all influencers in their own generation.

    I cast out demons
    I stay happy irrespective of the circumstances of life; they can't put me down because I know that in Christ I am a conqueror.
    I change things around me: the power to cause any change I desire so works in me.

  Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6. As you were growing up, you were learning consciously and unconsciously. The things you saw, heard and felt gave you a thinking pattern which eventually formed your attitude. Over time, this repetition of thoughts, feelings and actions fashioned your believe and perspective. As you get older, you started realizing that you react in a certain way to certain issues. You can overtake chariots

  Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.” So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?” Acts 8:29-30 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.  Isaiah 11:2     You have the spirit of God in you. That same spirit that enabled Philip to run up to a chariot is in you. He makes you wiser than your teachers, strengthens you in your areas of weakness and reveals hidden things to you. What is your drive?

What motivates you in life? What keeps you going in your career, business or ministry? Why do you do the things you do? Your life purpose should be your drive. Purpose is the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists. Most people make money their drive but they realize after making the money that they still feel empty and unfulfilled. The Mistake of Inconsistency

  Whatever we dream to become great at, we need to give it time, focus on it and keep repeating it. In life, I have seen people make the mistake of being here and there, trying different stuff and never settling with one. You need to give at least one hour everyday for 5 years to anything you wish to be great at. I know a woman who has tried to be great at something, she has been at it for five years now, but she has nothing to show for her endeavors. Her endeavors would have started yielding on the fifth year if she had been consistently focused on one thing.
