YOUR HELP IS COMING FROM A DIFFERENT SOURCE BETTER THAN YOU IMAGINED.

Most times, we try to figure things out on our own. We plan our lives the way we want it to be and we go ahead to pursue our goals, but when things do not go as we planned, we become distraught and start seeking for any available help. Then, you will realize that the arm of man fails a lot. Someone may have promised you that once you study a certain course, he/she has a job waiting for you; only for you to graduate and they keep promising and failing. You may have started a certain business hoping your support will come from a certain people only to find out they are not interested at all. You may be hoping that working or associating with certain people will give you financial freedom, but nothing is forth coming.

The Lord is asking you today to change your focus. That person you always have in mind when you say amen to prayers of divine helpers locating you; is not really your helper. That source of income you are hoping will one day bring you breakthrough is not where your breakthrough is coming from. Until you learn to lean on God and trust him blindly, you will be wasting your efforts. The Psalmist said in Psalm 121:

I lift up my eyes to the hills-- where does my help come from?

My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip-- he who watches over you will not slumber indeed; he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you-- the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

The LORD will keep you from all harm-- he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

David has always depended on God. He never relies on men, means, creatures, instruments or the arms of flesh. When he was facing Goliath, he boldly said;

“You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head…”

If only we can learn to trust and put our confidence in the Lord more than we trust our intellects, the great people we know and the things we have; we will stop fretting when things are not going as planned and begin to experience victory on all sides.

SING THE HYMN

1.      When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there's no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2.      Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey. [Refrain]

3.      But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey. [Refrain]

4.      Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we'll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]
